The latest

So the wind storms have stopped, the sun came out again, and we even got a bit of snow!! (But sadly, like Robert Frost's first green, it only lasted an hour...) Here's the morning view from my window. Once I had had breakfast, the snow was all gone.

This week has been stuffed with work - teaching has begun again and is now in
full swing, and I'm back to 12-hour days in the lab, trying to prepare
for an upcoming EU meeting in Madrid in 2 weeks. It's also application
season: I'm applying for postdoc positions everywhere I can think of!
It's messing with my head, filling it with all sorts of ideas of where
I could go next. I figure I'll apply everywhere and hold on a decision
until I see who will take me!

A parting thought -
The invention for today: Cylindrical ping-pong. Check it out.

What will they come up with next??

  1. Now, that ping pong looks like fun!I laughed when I read Bill Bryson's description of a blizzard in England which he read about in the newspaper. "Accumulation of up to two inches with drifts of six inches!" Oooh, scary.

  2. What kind of places are you applying to? What kind of thoughts are flying through your head? And how is the research going?
So, is that ping-pong table supposed to be played on? Because it looks like fun (albeit quite a challenge at first), but the way it's hanging makes it look like simply a piece of art.
