Unseasonably sunny weather is helping too. We had a bunch of girls over
after church on Sunday, and we whiled away the afternoon eating Mexican
and Moroccan food in the sunshine, savouring our gloriously autumnal garden. The beauty of the day requires a poem..... One cannot bypass an autumnal paradise without being reminded to recite keats:
Season of mists and mellow fruitfulness,
Close bosom-friend of the maturing sun;
Conspiring with him how to load and bless
With fruit the vines that round the thatch-eves run;
To bend with apples the moss'd cottage-trees,
And fill all fruit with ripeness to the core;
To swell the gourd, and plump the hazel shells
With a sweet kernel; to set budding more,
And still more, later flowers for the bees,
Until they think warm days will never cease,
For Summer has o'er-brimm'd their clammy cells.
Keats, 1820. To Autumn
From your autumnophile friend;
to fellow lovers of the seasons.
Oh Annie ! what lovely company you have!!! Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteAlso must say that the shots of your back yard (probably should be calling it a "garden") are just beautiful - postcard worthy!!!
Praying for you - for some joy and laughter to be randomly interjected amongst the stress and despair!
I love autumn, too! Your yard looks so different now, but still lovely!
ReplyDeleteannie, I was shocked. Not many of my math friends even got the joke!!!!
