On cultural misunderstanding
I'm constantly reminded I'm a guest in this culture. A continual
cultivation of grace is necessary to be able to laugh when an attempt
to be polite is interpreted as a slight. (NB happens in both
directions!) Mustn't take oneself too seriously...
