I made it!!

So I survived the Madrid meetings, and even somehow managed to impress everybody with my presentation. (They didn't see the very obvious holes in my work, but I didn't point them out...) It's a relief to have that over!

I find I pray a lot more during very stressful times... I'm more aware
than ever of my need for divine grace and strength... funny, though,
that I often feel disappointed in myself that I didn't have the
strength to make it on my own.

And I was able to get together with some old family friends from Oak Ridge afterwards! It was fun to see Jim and Barbara after so many years, spend a day with them and see their Madrid life, and hang out with some of their Spanish friends. I'm so thankful for their love and encouragement. (Hey Teresa, remember Coach Mac??)

Now I'm going to Austria for a 4-day weekend, to recover in the sunshine and fresh air in the mountains with four English friends... they're already there, skiing, and I'll go join them tomorrow night! Pictures to come...

  1. Sorry to say I don't really remember Coach Mac. Was he the x-country coach? The only sport I ever really played was rowing, so I didn't really know many of the coaches. I hope your skiing is most excellent! I'll be thinking of you while you're schussing!

  2. Wonderful! I was just thinking about your ski trip today. I hope it's a relaxing time and that you are able to refresh your mind, body, and spirit. Also, I hope they have really yummy food.

  3. It's not set in stone where we are going yet, but we've both said, "Hey, we can visit A. in C!" (except we said the actual names)
