Catching up with friends and politics in Washington, DC... and savouring the last heat of summer! Enjoyed jazz at the sculpture garden last night, after catching a WWII commemmoration replete with veterans, service theme songs courtesy of the navy band, and remarks by D. Rumsfeld, punctuated by a fireworks display...  only in America...

Tasting in the wine country of hilly Virginia rounds out a relaxing holiday..

In other news, I have discovered a new musical group: Pink Martini. This 12-piece band can crank up the groove in Latin jazz as well as capture the passion of Italian and French chansons... check out pinkmartini.com
