Thought for the day: The English national anthem is called 'Jerusalem.'
And the other English popular quasi-patriotic song is 'Swing Low, Sweet
Chariot.'

ENGLAND.   Not the Middle East, nor the plantations of the American South.

Does anybody else out there find this a bit ironic??

(then to further complicate matters, an English colleague today was
whistling the Star-Spangled Banner in the lab... whilst wearing a
T-shirt audaciously proclaiming: "British by birth; English by the
grace of God!" )
