Thoughts on *identity* today. A home-school dad remarked to me the
other day that homeschooled children tend to get their sense of
identity from where they fit in relation to the others in their family.
Sounds like a healthy thing. One is not expected to be the same as
everyone else. Diversity within unity. A beautiful thing.

Others who had their formative years in public school dealt with a more
dog-eat-dog environment, in which one must invent and define oneself in
other terms: academics, socially, athletically, musically, etc. 
An interesting thought...

Here in Cambridge-world I tend to identify myself with respect to my
work. But I'm no longer intelligent compared to anybody else! The best
friends are those who accept you for who you are.
